A brief overview:

Our Package Group works on the part of GitLab concerning the Package stage, which integrates with GitLab's CI/CD product. The Package Group's mission is to create a secure environment where both source code and dependencies can live by allowing users to publish, consume, and discover packages of a large variety of languages and platforms all in one place. The Package group is responsible for container registry, package repositories, and the dependency proxy. All of these are key components of our CI/CD offering where our users pull more than a million packages each week!

As a Product Designer, you will work with our customers, users, and cross-functional Package team to develop the UX vision for the Package Group.

What you can expect in a Product Designer / Senior Product Designer, Package role at GitLab::

  • You'll work alongside a Product Manager, UX Researcher, other Product Designers, and Engineers to iterate on new features and user journeys in GitLab.
  • You'll develop a UX vision for Package and deliver upon this vision iteratively.
  • You'll utilize wireframes, prototypes, sketches, user flows, mockups, high fidelity visual designs, and any other artefacts you believe are necessary to convey your design thinking and ideas.
  • You'll partner with UX Researchers & Product Managers on problem validation studies to understand the problem space you're operating within.
  • You'll leverage solution validation studies to validate your solutions and proposed directions.
  • You'll gather user needs through user interviews or contextual inquiries and will convert those into user requirements.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Product Designer workflow and work with your peers and manager to design solutions for real customer problems.

Our hiring process and compensation:

For Colorado residents: The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $113,400 - $199,300 for Colorado residents only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary. Disclosure as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.
