This is for a Summer 2022 Internship.
We're looking for an intern to join the Consumer Design team to tackle complex problems with elegant designs that’s both intuitive and accessible. This ranges across different features and customer types.
As an intern, you will receive one-on-one mentorship from a seasoned designer and will be part of a stellar user experience team, with the opportunity to learn from experienced product managers and researchers who bring a breadth of experience with them.
Your experience will be hands-on, with you designing features and participating in the entire product development process. Most importantly, you will be working with a thoughtful team who is dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences that centers around our customers.
What you’ll do:
- Help to define the user experience for Affirm products and features.
- Develop high quality storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interactions and design ideas.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, content, engineering, and product to create creative user experiences that is informed by qualitative and quantitative metrics
- Be an active participant in team critiques
What we look for:
- In process of obtaining an undergrad or graduate degree in Design, HCI, Information Science or related social science field
- Experience with industry design tooling (e.g. Figma)
- Portfolio showcasing experience design
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
- A willingness to learn

The majority of our roles are remote and can be located anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of the U.S. Territories, Quebec, Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories) unless the job indicates a different global location. We are currently building operations in Spain, Poland, and Australia. Employees in remote roles have the option of working remotely or from an Affirm office in their country of hire, and may occasionally travel to an Affirm office or elsewhere for required meetings or team-building events. Our offices in Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Toronto will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis, subject to local COVID-19 guidelines.
