Job brief
As a Product Designer—Design Systems (Web), you’ll directly contribute to our mission by delivering the foundations that help our product design and engineering teams consistently and efficiently deliver amazing customer experiences.
Reporting to our UI Lead, you’ll be involved in creating a Design System from scratch, working both autonomously and collaboratively within a small team. In addition to the creation of tokens and component libraries, you’ll write straightforward guidelines and work closely with engineers to ensure continuity between design and code.
You’ll have significant experience with Design Systems and responsive web practices within product-led organisations. If you’re a generalist, this role isn’t for you—you’ll thrive as a systems specialist with dedicated-role experience.

What You’ll Do
- Creation of Design System (Web) from scratch (tokens, components, patterns and documentation)
- You will work collaboratively with product, design, research and engineering teams to effectively showcase your designs and achieve timely sign-off and approvals
- You will report directly to the UI Lead and be based in our London office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in the office, Monday’s and Wednesday’s)
- You’ll be a part of the wider Moneybox design team and participate in design reviews and design community activities
Who you are
- A designer with significant experience in responsive web design and demonstrable expertise in visual design
- Previous experience in a Design System design role – creating at least one Design System (web) from scratch
- Proficiency with tools like Figma, Token Studio, Supernova or similar
- Impressive portfolio demonstrating examples of Design System deliverables (components, patterns, documentation and guidelines for a variety of stakeholders)
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements and how to implement them effectively
- Keen interest in UI motion and interaction design principles is preferable
- You’re a great communicator, tailoring your approach for different audiences
- Work well autonomously but comfortable collaborating with other designers and engineers
- Quick learner, always open-minded and curious, and eager to learn new skills
- Ability to think on your feet, adapt and convey your ideas and thought process
- What drives you is delivering great experiences and solving problems
- You thrive in a fast paced environment where you can use lightweight processes, creative ideas and quick iteration to have a huge impact
- Love showing your work often because it’s how you improve
