Product Design Manager

We are now looking for a full-time Product Design Manager to work in our Israel office in Herzliya to continue our growth. The office is responsible for a wide range of products core to Pendo’s lineup, from Guides to Mobile and Machine Learning. As Product Design Manager, you will be responsible for the existing team of designers, as well as emerging product initiatives. You will be reporting to the Director of Product Design in EMEA.

As a Product Design Manager you will balance leading the existing team of two designers with the hands-on work of leading design for emerging projects. As such, you will be involved in all aspects of the design process: talking with customers, building lo-fi deliverables, workflows and collaborating closely with engineering and product to build pixel-perfect designs in an agile environment.

You'll be responsible for:

• Establishing a sustainable design culture in the Israel office, with performance management, career progression, and measurable outcomes
• Partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering and Agile leaders to execute the business strategy
• Leading the design of emerging initiatives from concept to delivery
• Champion the Design System and Design Processes within the Israel office
• Creating valuable, user-focused, data-driven solutions that balance both user and business needs
• Driving adoption of processes early within the org by being early practitioners and champions of those processes
• Seek opportunities refine internal processes and make them more efficient surrounding design, share findings 
• Contributing to the Pendo design system and maintaining consistent visual and interaction patterns
• Being a champion for Pendo values, best practices of design and innovation both inside and outside of the company
• Being a representative of thought leadership within the design community

Who you are:

• Empathetic, and have a genuinely collaborative attitude
• Experience in managing a team in a fast-moving environment, including providing progression opportunities and performance management
• Deep understanding of the fundamental principles of product design
• Comfortable with all aspects of product design: user research, prototyping, interaction design and visual design
• Experience in participating in user research, and ready to share examples of championing user needs in your work
• Able to drive clarity from ambiguity; creating a shared understanding across stakeholders
• Curious and enthusiastic about solving people problems
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ship real product
• Data-driven—use data to inform design decisions
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice to Haves:

• Multiple years experience of managing designers within a product company, such as within a B2B SaaS business or an international business
• A skilled negotiator who is able to align whole teams around a design vision
• Design experience for analytics, machine learning projects, and/or with creating data visualizations
• Experience with NPS, SUS, or other ways of measuring design outcomes
• Experience working with international teams
• Experience with Pendo
