Product Design Manager

Pendo provides powerful self-serve analytics & in-product communication for any function throughout your company—PMs, CSMs, Design Managers, and many more. We’ve got enormous ambitions as a company and just as big as a Design/Research team.

We’re seeking a Product Design Manager to be a player-coach for a small team of exceptional designers at different stages of their career, while also contributing to feature work as a designer. Maintain a foothold in the trenches of your craft while mentoring and coaching other designers to further their careers.

This position reports to the Director of Product Design in the Product org.

Role responsibilities:

• Drive strong product outcomes—as a player and as a coach—that increase user adoption and delight.
• Allocate roughly 60-70% of your time to actively designing and the remainder as a people manager for a small team of designers.
• Partner tightly with PM/Eng leadership peers to align with executive leadership on key strategic objectives, and drive initiatives that establish vision and direction.
• Show genuine concern for the success and well-being of each team member.
• Thread diversity and inclusion into all team processes, from hire to retire.

Minimum Qualifications:

• There is no “minimum years of experience” requirement—tell us what positions you well as a new-ish or seasoned manager to manage and scale a team.
• Hold yourself and team members accountable to a high bar for performance and quality through strong execution, empowerment, and support.
• Recruit and mentor members toward career growth and provide opportunities to level up.
• Collaborate with Product Management, User Research, Engineering, and Executive leadership to prioritize roadmap initiatives.
• Partner with Design & Research leadership on furthering team initiatives such as career frameworks, design system, and so on.
• Become intimately familiar with Pendo as a product.
