Product Design Manager - Passbook (Seattle or US Remote)

About the Role:

You'll lead all of product design for Passbook - a Time Magazine innovation of the year for 2020 and what we hope will become the best financial app for immigrants globally. You'll be an equal, active, and generative peer to product management and engineering on the product team, directly accountable for product usability.

You have a broad skill set capable of leading across all design domains but "T-shaped" depth and expertise in developing design vision, UX strategy and design systems, design operations, and management/development of other designers.

You enjoy the acrobatics required in earlier stage businesses , diversity of skills it requires, and adapt and apply the right level of process and foundation to balance velocity now with velocity later. You thrive in partnership with PM/Eng teams. You're excited about building the best team and app in fintech. You'll report directly to our VP of Product and Design. This role can either be performed in-person in Seattle (preferred) or remote from within the United States.

You Will:

• Lead design and the design team
• Further a culture that deeply understands customers and how they prefer to use our product
• Set design short and long-term vision for product design and the design team
• Build out design operations and processes and integrate with product counterparts
• Establish and implement UX strategy and design systems
• Build a happy, healthy, productive design team
• Actively participate in product design while building out the team
• Be an advocate for the customer, the craft, and the team

You Have:

• 5+ years design experience (supported by a portfolio of work) in product design, especially mobile, including design systems and design operations
• 1+ years managing other designers
• A passion for people and cultures, along with experience designing products for which you are not the primary customer. Spanish language fluency is a major bonus
• Solid knowledge of modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Framer X, InVision, etc.)
• A highly developed instinct for how experiences reinforce brand preference
• A desire to grow, adapt, expand your skills, and try new things
