Location Details:

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

As a Product Design Manager, you will be contributing to the success of GoDaddy on multiple fronts: delivering designs, shaping strategy, and managing direct reports. Effectively, you will be tasked with leading mission critical tasks as an individual contributor while engaging, aligning, and growing a small group of designers.

You will be responsible not only for the design team across an expansive functional area of the company, but also driving NPS and ensuring every experience a customer has is second to none. In this specific role, you will be contributing directly to commerce experiences, frameworks, and patterns, and will be responsible for leading design discussions, brainstorming sessions and design reviews across teams. 

As the leader in the design team, you will partner with other leaders and establish strategic plans, goals, and tactics and delegating assignments to your direct reports. You will be working on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

What you'll get to do...

  • Establish goals, direction, and expectations, as well as work plans for teams and departments with cross-team collaboration.
  • Coach designers when they’re blocked, help them navigate the org, stakeholders, ensure they know what’s priority
  • Work with the design team to mentor and coach best practices, provide feedback and collaborate to ensure design standards are being met
  • Provide constructive feedback throughout the development of a project
  • Contribute to and connect with the UX team strategy (Near Star, North Star, etc)
  • An active contributor and participator in group critique and constant iterative improvement and guide sessions in a team environment, and fosters design thinking into the common vernacular
  • Support the customers needs and our business objectives by solving problems in unusual and innovative ways.
  • Create experiences across multiple touch points, mediums, products, regions and customers without sacrificing consistency and simplicity.
  • Be comfortable building concepts, working in low fidelity and high fidelity as well as testing, learning and iterating on designs.
  • Create artifacts that articulate our users needs, product principles and design details necessary to bring something to life with our engineers
  • Actively lead multiple projects (often through collaboration and delegation), from start to finish, to meet priorities and requirements in an agile environment

Your experience should include...

  • 5+ years experience in delivering products to market with a proven track record
  • Innate ability to present and explain solutions and decisions to teams, stakeholders, and executives in a style that fosters collaboration and consensus building
  • Clear track record of problem resolution, team leadership, and time in a role with at least 2 direct reports.
  • A rock-solid portfolio that demonstrates skills in user experience and interaction design
  • Deep understanding of design tools like: Figma, Sketch, Framer, XD, InVision, Axure, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Ability to think through complicated design systems and challenge existing constraints

You might also have...

  • Experience building software for customer experience or service design industries
  • BA or MA in interaction design, communication design, industrial design, HCI, or equivalent
  • Experience with micro-interactions and animations
  • Experience with UX writing, micro-copy and why content is important
  • eCommerce, POS or Fin-tech experience
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to a broad team of Designers, Engineers and Product Managers
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior designers on the team
  • Experience with A/B testing
  • Strong visual design skills
