Product Design Manager

About the role

We're looking for two Product Design Managers to join our Design Systems team. Each manager will be working closely with their cross-functional pod, collaborating with engineering and product partners, and coaching a team of Product Designers to meet their career goals and deliver our aspirational vision for the future of design systems at Xero.

Managers work closely with their Design Directors to share in the strategy work and conversations. You’ll also work very closely with teams across all of Xero, forging strong relationships and building a vibrant community of active collaboration, innovation and participation in the evolution of our design systems.

As part of the wider leadership team you’ll share responsibility for aspects of making the design team better, such as: Helping to deliver the team’s professional development programme, and continuously improving our ways of working together.

What you'll do

Work closely with your cross-functional pod and our other design systems teams to influence priorities and roadmaps
Love connecting with people across the business, bringing them together to create #beautiful customer experiences
Advocate for systems thinking at Xero, with design quality and the Xero customer front of mind
Offer design critique to designers, sharing your thoughts and domain knowledge in a useful and constructive way
Understand your team deeply to evolve their careers and enable them to be the best they can be at Xero
Align your team to the overall strategy of Design, reviewing your teams performance, and managing resource requests for your portfolio of work
Manage stakeholders with differing needs in a pragmatic and human way
Present design and design strategy to a variety of internal and external groups, from product colleagues to C-level executives
