Role Description
We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Core Sharing team that is focused on leveling-up core functionality in Dropbox — the bread-and-butter sharing and collaboration experiences that millions of users love.
This role will be focused on making sharing with Dropbox feel like magic, so that “it just works”. You’ll do this by making it easier and faster for our users to achieve their goals, while building their confidence and trust. You’ll work with a roduct management partner along with a team of engineers to ideate, design solutions, test with users, build, and measure success.
This role is best suited for a Product Designer who is energized by detangling complex problems and creating simple solutions that just make sense for our customers.
This role will come with direct mentorship from 1-2 other designers on the Core Sharing design team to support your growth. You’ll also be part of the Dropbox design community and will be able to learn from some of the best designers around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to discovery and planning with your PM partner on well-scoped problem areas with guidance from your manager.
- Participating in sprints, working sessions, or related exercises to work quickly through synthesizing insights and solution iterations.
- Getting feedback directly from users to inform design decisions.
- Executing detailed and thorough designs with regular feedback, direction, and support from your manager and mentor.
- Socializing and collaborating with your cross functional team in addition to rest of the Core Sharing design team.
Requirements
- 1+ years of UX-related (or comparable) work experience and/or a degree in a relevant design field.
- An ownership and growth mindset, ready to proactively take on challenges, be excited to grow, and engaged in team activities
- Steadfast empathy for our users, their lives, and what they hope to gain from using Dropbox.
- Clear communication style.
- Comfortable with travel, potentially quarterly post-COVID.
