Our global payments team enables a best-in-class, recurring, frictionless payments experience that facilitates our mission, drives business outcomes, and protects against fraud. As a principal product manager on the team, you will develop, own, and drive the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across our portfolio of payments solutions to ensure robustness, reliability and resilience. This role is an integral part of the product team that develops and maintains the global payments platform at Vimeo.

Payments is a complex and highly strategic area for Vimeo. We leave millions of dollars on the table when we are not able to successfully process payments and we lose money when we have excess chargebacks and payment fraud. You will take ownership of a wide variety of projects ranging from building standalone payment experiences, to integrating third-party payment solution providers, to upgrading significant portions of the underlying payments platform infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a compelling product vision: Define specifications for payment integrations, design data schemas for customer payment information, and outline system architecture for payment processing.
  • Roll up your sleeves, dig into the details: Write detailed user stories and technical requirements for payments, troubleshoot payment processing errors, and conduct code reviews for payment-related features.
  • Set a high bar for success: Implement A/B testing for new payment features, monitor system performance metrics, and optimize payment processing algorithms.
  • Manage the execution of initiatives: Coordinate with engineering teams on API integrations, database updates, and system deployments for payment solutions, and track progress using project management tools.
  • Define metrics for success and failure: Set up monitoring tools to track payment transaction volume, success rates, chargeback rates, and fraud detection metrics. Create dashboards using data visualization tools to analyze these metrics.
  • Customer focus: Leverage your passion and expertise in the payments industry to better serve the needs of our users.
  • Work cross-functionally: Collaborate with engineering on payment gateway APIs, data science on fraud detection algorithms, and finance on payment reconciliation processes.
  • Cultivate partnerships: Develop and manage internal and external partnerships to ensure a best-in-class product vision.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record of successfully launching product solutions with deep technical understanding
  • 4+ years of experience with various aspects of payments, preferably within a recurring revenue business.
  • 4+ years of quantitative analytical experience, including the ability to analyze hard data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations.
  • Strong operational knowledge of payments processing methods protocols and platforms including experience with chargebacks and payments fraud.
  • BS in one or more of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, or Finance
  • Zuora Billing, Revenue / RevPro, and Salesforce experience preferred
  • Familiarity with business intelligence platforms such as Looker and Tableau
  • Ability to query within Snowflake or MySql is considered a plus
  • Strong spreadsheet skills required to perform data analysis and data validation.
  • Global company experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with system development life cycle
