About the job

The HTS Media Services team is responsible for driving ad placements across the Hopper app and HTS partner sites and portals. We work with clients primarily in the travel industry—including airlines, airports, hotels, and destination management organizations—to deliver advertising campaigns that drive high-margin revenue for Hopper, and great returns for our advertisers.

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the buildout of our Ads business across all of our partners, including both the ad placements themselves and the back-end ad platform to power them. You will be responsible for one of Hopper’s fastest-growing lines of profit, with the potential to significantly impact the company’s overall results.

You’ll work closely with the product teams of each of our partners, operating across the Hopper app, our CapitalOne travel portal, and many new partners that we are onboarding into our ecosystem. You will own your roadmap, be solely responsible for the output of a team of engineers, and have a high degree of autonomy and accountability for the success of our Ads business.

What would your day-to-day look like:

  • Grow revenue: Ultimately your responsibility will be to set and execute on a roadmap that allows us to grow the revenue of our Media Services business.

  • Set strategy: You will be tasked with defining the long-term strategy for our Media Services products, both in defining what placements we need to build for our advertisers and what infrastructure we need to support them.

  • Talk to customers: You’ll regularly meet with our advertisers, our HTS partners, and Hopper users to ensure that our products align with the needs of all 3 parties.

  • Run a tight product team: You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day product management for a team of engineers that will be dedicated to this team.

  • Work with our sales team: You’ll work closely with our sales team to iterate on our ad products to create what we know we’ll be able to sell.

  • Measure results: You will be expected to collect and report on the data around our Media Services business to inform our next steps.

An ideal candidate has:

  • Track record: 6+ years of product management experience preferred. Demonstrated track record of building out successful products. Experience specifically in building out advertising products is highly-valued.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on performance insights. SQL knowledge is preferred.

  • Technical Ability: Technical depth that allows you to communicate with, understand and work closely with a team of world-class engineers.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Perks and benefits of working with us:

  • Well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions, competitive salary and the upsides of pre-IPO equity packages.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Carrot Cash travel stipend.
  • Access to co-working space on demand through FlexDesk AND Work-from-home stipend.
  • Please ask us about our very generous parental leave, much above industry standards!.
  • Entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits and taking risks is everyday business.
  • Open communication with management and company leadership.
  • Small, dynamic teams = massive impact.
  • 100% employer paid Medical, Dental and Vision coverage for employees.
  • Access to Disability & Life insurance.
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
  • DCA/ FSA and access to 401k plan.
