Every year, we partner with our customers to deliver outcomes like conserving millions of gallons of fuel, saving millions of dollars, and creating positive environmental change. As more customers connect to our platform, our data grows, our AI models get smarter, and our opportunities expand.

About the role:

We are looking for a Manager on the Product Marketing team to lead a team of product marketers. You will hire, mentor and work with a growing team of product marketers to accelerate the adoption of our platform, create new solution-driven narratives, launch new full-stack features, drive sales enablement, and build internal programs and processes to up-level our team.

At Samsara, the Product Marketing team helps to shape the product roadmap, enable customer-facing teams, and drive over 100 new hardware and software product launches each year. At our core, we are expert storytellers, partnering closely with product, sales, customer success, and our broader marketing teams to ensure that all of our products resonate with and align to the needs of our target audiences across industries and geographies. We are a fast growing team and you can expect this role to evolve over time, with opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility and impact our growth.

You will embody Samsara’s leadership principles and be responsible for creating plans for your team that align with company priorities. In this role, we are looking for a strong cross-functional leader who has experience managing and communicating complex projects with many stakeholders and senior leadership. In addition to people responsibilities, this role also offers the opportunity to build out brand new cross-product programs and initiatives. Examples of past initiatives include an excellent intelligence program, new storytelling frameworks, and sales training programs.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Guide a team of product marketers. Hire, coach, motivate, and develop strong talent through regular reviews, 1:1s, and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Define and manage end-to-end GTM strategy for our Platform product area with your team, including messaging, positioning, launch planning, keynote presentations, sales enablement, multi-channel marketing campaigns, customer adoption and more.
  • Develop insights based on product usage data, voice of customer, campaign effectiveness, and industry trends and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that promote business objectives and drive tangible results.
  • Partner with product, sales, and marketing leaders to build initiatives that drive success for and promote your product group internally and externally. You will be the main point of contact for leadership within your product product group.
  • Drive organizational excellence for the Product Marketing team using a critical eye to identify opportunities, build new frameworks, and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in product marketing, solution marketing, growth marketing, product management, or go-to-market strategy.
  • 1+ years of experience of managing and mentoring a small team of product marketing professionals
  • A strong understanding of the value of team culture, communication, and collaboration
  • Experience developing individual contributors based on their needs and interests as well as the needs of the company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’re comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences (large and small) and are an expert at creating and editing everything from pithy emails to detailed launch plans to researched white-papers and more.
  • An ability to synthesize and distill complex information into clear, concise messaging for different audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Experience in high-growth technology companies and/or fast-paced startups – you’re happiest operating without a set playbook.
  • An eye for detail, that doesn’t lose sight of the big picture; analytical, yet creative; and a self-starter who is not afraid to execute and get in the weeds.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • High sense of urgency and driven work ethic to drive business outcomes.
  • Analytical chops to understand customer data and measure the effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • A passion for thinking out of the box and developing creative campaigns or content.
