Hinge Health Hybrid Model:
We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 2 days/week. We will be expanding to 3 days/week in the office beginning April of 2024.
About the Role
The Design RnD group is highly multidisciplinary made up of designers from all backgrounds (product, industrial, visual, motion, etc), researchers, content strategists, program managers, and more.
As a Lead User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for leading the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of mixed-methods UX research studies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teammates and external partners in shaping the delivery of products that impact member outcomes. You will spend time deeply understanding our members and conveying empathy, insights and strategic recommendations back to the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Identify high-value research areas; propose and plan research initiatives for generative and evaluative purposes
- Support creating best practices for research within the organization including templates, research cadence, etc
- Uplevel our thinking and our understanding; generate key insights and bring more user input to guide R&D teams in product planning, design, and development
- Consult, advise, and educate; bring more user research benefits across the company and amplify knowledge across multiple teams
- Extend your reach by working with colleagues in other disciplines to plan, conduct, and draw insights from research activities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years’ experience in user research
- Command of broad set of qualitative, mixed methods and user centered research methodologies to support the concept generation, design, and development of web and mobile applications; experience with hardware a strong plus
- Including, but not limited to user testing, competitive analysis, diary studies, etc.
- Strong background in end to end research from creating a research plan, to recruiting, moderating, analysis and report out
- Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research
- Solid understanding of quantitative research, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts; comfortable deriving insights from data and observations
- Proven ability to strategize, lead and implement qualitative research
- Leadership in best practices in user research and a passion for learning, growing and trying new approaches

- Testing with multilingual populations (and speaking a second language)
- Experience in health, medical, fitness, and/or wellness spaces
- Experience in writing/analyzing surveys, kano testing etc.
- Experience in conducting research to inform brand or marketing
