Our Product Platform domain is fulfilling this purpose by building out the platform strategy for Personio’s product. Furthermore, Product Platform plays a pivotal role in delivering the tooling, components, templates and standards that establish the foundations of a common Personio design platform; ultimately providing our customers with a consistent, accessible and delightful experience.
To support our mission, we are looking for a Lead UI Designer that is passionate about designing modern, engaging and intuitive user interfaces and has experience of leading the exploration and definition of a product's global visual identity.
As a successful candidate you will help drive a centralised effort to define and evolve Personio’s user interface; leveraging your ability to identify and apply cutting edge visual trends and interaction paradigms. You’ll partner with design, product, engineering and marketing to create a compelling, consumer-grade look and feel for the next generation of our Personio platform.
Your tasks and responsibilities:You’ll help define and drive overarching design decisions that inform the overall look and feel of the Personio product; advocating for commonality, consistency and design quality.
Provide standards and best practices (across domain and department) for best-in-class UI and Visual Design; actively leading a wider community of designers to drive quality and craft.
Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional peers to define, validate and iterate on Personio’s evolving visual language.
Managing stakeholder relationships to provide alignment, present explorations and defend design solutions.
Be an arbitrator for high-level design decisions, using insights, best practice and industry trends to help others arrive at pragmatic, well-reasoned decisions.
Leading the translation of customer insights into designed experiences and forming a compelling story around it.
Work with a wider program team of designers, engineers and product managers to enable wider UI/UX goals and monitor the impact of global design decisions.
Use various mediums/levels of fidelity to explore design concepts and prototype interactions for validation and stakeholder review.
Work with other designers and writers to translate design decisions into guidance that is intuitive, accessible and up to date.
Be a leading voice in the ongoing development and adoption of our design system (Highlight UI), as the manifestation of our design decisions.
You have a strong background in UI and Visual Design, with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity, an eye for detail, and your strive for pixel perfection.
Be a practice expert in UI and Visual Design design with a comprehensive knowledge of layout, composition, hierarchy, page flow and the use of various UI components.
You’ll have a keen eye for craft that can zero in on the details of typography, color, grid and motion, but also take the 1000 foot view for comprehension, cohesion and consistency.
Follow a systematic approach to building out a common visual language, ideally having led and contribute to the development of a number of design systems.
Have extensive knowledge around design tools, in particular Figma.
Ability to work in an Agile, highly-collaborative organisation, balancing creativity with execution.
As well as excellence in visual craft, you should have a good understanding of the whole design process, inclusive of Product Design, UX Research and UX Writing.
Have a great understanding of current design trends, as applied to SaaS products.
You are well versed in motion design, including transitions and micro-interactions.
You seek regular feedback for continuous improvement (growth mindset).
You have great communication skills and are fluent in written/spoken English.
