Working at Atlassian

Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Atlassian is looking for an experienced Lead Service Designer to join our Developer Productivity Team in Europe!
This role partners strategically with a cross-functional, distributed and highly skilled team of product managers, engineers, analysts, customer advocates, content designers and designers in building and improving our developers' journey and experience. Within our Developer Productivity org this is not only a very interesting space to work in, but also a pioneer role to fill in when it comes to our European teams.

At Atlassian we are revolutionizing the software industry, and helping teams across the world collaborate in deeper, more meaningful ways, and this time it is even more personal, as the scope of this function is the experience of our very own developers. You will be empowered to innovate and transform their experience, so they can keep creating brilliant tools and platforms for our customers globally.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Lead the design process across our developers' journeys.
  • Utilize service design to deliver seamless learn, buy, expand, augment their experience.
  • With your cross-functional team, develop a keen understanding of our teams and their needs–whether through user research, problem unpacking, or sketching/visualization.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to drive and inform the experience across the development journey.
  • From this understanding, you will design experiences that help bridge the gap between our customers' goals and Atlassian's products and solutions.
  • Through ideation and experimentation, be the champion of experience improvements across Atlassian's engineering organizations.

On your first day, we will expect you to have:

  • An updated and polished portfolio that demonstrates strong user experience and interaction design with informed empathy for the user. This is key for us.
  • Professional Service Design/Product/UX Design experience under your belt, ideally gained from a mix of consulting and product companies.
  • Demonstrated love of the open iterative design process – constantly sketching, showing work in progress, validating with users and data, iterating, shipping, learning, growing, and shipping customer value some more.
  • Strong facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to work across multiple teams and across multiple timezones, solicit and synthesize helpful feedback, and facilitate design discussions.
  • Experience with strategies for utilizing data and user feedback to drive awesome digital experiences.
  • Bonus points for experience using analytics and insights from enterprise-level platform environments.
More about our team

Designers at Atlassian are responsible for the complete user experience, from discovery and ideation, through implementation and iteration based on key success metrics. You will join a smart team that is passionate about creating the best user experience possible, and committed to delivering what users need to manage and maintain our products. We challenge each other constantly, asking the 'hard questions' to improve our work. We're dedicated to agile methodology and big believers in 'lean', with a strong flair for innovation.
