About the role

Seamless money movement in and out of Chime - including instant transfers, wire transfers etc. are among the most crucial, frequent, and high-value jobs to be done by our members on Chime. And because they’re so fundamental to our member experience, they have the potential to make or break our members’ dedication and trust across all of their experiences with Chime.

The mission of this team is simple: make the movement of money as fast, easy, reliable and low-cost as possible for our members. Making these experiences frictionless and delightful requires creative vision, strong partnerships, detailed financial and risk analysis, operational excellence, and scalable extensible platforms to support money movement throughout our products and features. While we’re off to a phenomenal start, there remains enormous opportunity to improve and innovate.

You will build a strategy, develop product roadmaps, and partner closely with engineering to enhance our current offering and deliver new services. You will be responsible for the consumer-facing experiences as well as the platform that powers money movement at Chime. You will be entrusted not only with traditional product development, but also with driving alignment and results across a dedicated cross-functional team that includes risk, compliance, member services, biz dev, finance and more. These Chimers will look to you to help set the end-to-end member experience vision and goals within your area, balancing member needs with metrics like contact rate, fraud losses, compliance risk, and unit economics, and to create a clear path to support money movement efforts across Chime.

For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $165,600plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Develop a deep understanding of our users needs, our operational landscape and our competitors.
  • Define the strategy and vision for Cards at Chime and continually champion it internally.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Strong Empathy for users and an aim to discover and resolve their pain points.
  • Deep curiosity. You enjoy going deep into the data, asking more “whys” in the qual, and you strive for a better understanding of what it means to meet users where they are.
  • An owner’s mentality - you don’t shy away from the hard stuff.
  • Willingness and judgment to make hard product prioritization decisions and ability to rapidly learn from mistakes.
  • Experience translating complex, confusing, frustrating concepts and systems into simple, elegant, understandable experiences.
  • Strong collaboration in team environments but able to act quickly as the decision-maker
  • Develop a deep understanding of the players and trends in the money movement ecosystem, and work closely with our biz dev and finance teams to form partnerships that help deliver on your mission
  • Build strong cases for initiatives that involve nuanced financial/risk/experience tradeoffs and create alignment on the path forward
  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager. FinTech experience is a strong plus.
