About Nabr

When it comes to your home, you shouldn’t have to compromise. For over twenty years, our team has been at the cutting edge of the building industry. We now channel these lessons into Nabr, a people-first housing company. Our near-term goal is to put more people on a path to owning a high-quality, environmentally friendly home in the city. Our long-term vision is to help spur a societal shift toward sustainable urban living.

At this time, most candidates should expect to work in-person 2-3 days a week. Nabr is a strong fit for candidates who are eager to jump into a high-growth tech startup, who are interested in design and passionate about improving quality of life in cities, particularly with regard to sustainability and affordability.

About the Role

Nabr’s lead product designer is responsible for defining Nabr’s consumer journey from expression of interest through to homeownership and beyond and aligning it with the company’s brand, mission, and business strategy. The lead designer bridges the gap between marketing (what’s needed) and engineering (what’s possible), in order to create delightful, authentic user experiences. The experience needs to support a diverse customer base that spans cultural backgrounds, income levels, and life stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the customer journey
  • Set up and maintain user-centered product design process
  • Coordinate product roadmap between marketing, engineering, and design team (both in-house and outsourced)
  • Maintain a high quality standard for all product deliverables
  • Co-own customer conversion metrics with marketing and product leads
  • Manage department budget
  • Hire and mentor design team

Ideally you have...

  • 5+ years of product design leadership experience
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Expert in user-centered design: user research, need finding, user testing, and performance optimization
  • Experience with map-based and 3D graphics experience design a plus
  • Developed product experiences catering to a broad range of user groups
  • Architectural design or urban planning background a plus

Closing Thoughts

At Nabr, we believe it is critical that our company embodies the diverse perspectives of the residents we are serving. We are committed to reflecting the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, both in the workplace and in the products we deliver to residents. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those from historically underrepresented communities. We are excited to hear from you!
