The Job

We’re on our journey to become a world-class design team, and there’s lots to get stuck into. 

We’re building the foundations for our future, including: 

  • Establishing ways of working to ensure Content Design is a valued and essential part of the design process, from planning and strategy, all the way to delivery and build.
  • Improving collaboration and communication within our product teams.
  • Using workshops, demos and working sessions to showcase the depth of what Content Design can do.
  • Building a talented team of Content Designers, helping them to produce their best work and continue to grow their practice.

It’s an exciting period of growth for the company. That’s why we need someone who sees the product through our users’ eyes, manages business needs, and will champion the importance of Content Design. Someone who can bring creativity and clarity to every touchpoint and can turn complex concepts into something simple and human. 

We are looking for someone who thrives working on complex, ambiguous projects, such as new products or features and who has experience leading other Content Designers and Product Designers to collaborate and deliver successfully on the project goals.You’re an experienced Content Designer with an interest in health technology that solves real-world user problems and you need to be able to flex between prototyping new products, designing end-to-end experiences and creating compelling microcopy such as feature overviews, error messages and pushes. 

You’ll be confident presenting Content Design work to a large audience and stakeholders from different disciplines, at multiple levels in the business andcomfortable coming up with solutions and new processes, challenging ways of working while also listening in order to understand and serve business needs.

Your Experience

Must have:

  • Content Design expertise and attention to detail.
  • Experience co-designing with product designers in collaborative tools.
  • Brilliant communication skills – with the ability to influence others and advocate for Content Design at all levels — from product designers to product managers to senior stakeholders.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your work

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on mobile apps and with a complicated subject like health is preferred

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for:

At Flo, each day is different, but you can expect to:

  • Lead Content Design at a stream level, working with multiple PMs and collaborating with Lead and VPs in Product, to contribute to planning Content Design resources so that CDs are contributing most effectively to OKRs.
  • Working across multiple projects - and sometimes streams - on both a lead and support basis. Deliver large scale projects, as well as jumping in on the day-to-day, creating clear, concise, and compelling content for new features, widgets, paywalls and more.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Researcher, Analysts and Product Managers to define new experiences across our app and website.
  • Advocate for Content Design both on your team and in the wider community.
  • Proactively seek areas for improvement, working with all content disciplines and across other product streams to find solutions.
  • Work closely with Localisation to ensure messaging and tone of voice is kept consistent and makes sense across different markets.
  • Evangelise for human-centered design, readability, accessibility and creativity.
  • Help other Content Designers develop their skills, by sharing best practice, collaboration, and training.
  • Lead and contribute to Content Design crits, as well as giving timely content feedback async, to empower other CDs to deliver the best work.
  • Dig into data, helping to shape experiment methodology and hypotheses, as well as engaging in analytics reporting to decide next content iterations.
