Hello, we're UW.

We take the headache out of essential home services by providing them all in one place – energy, broadband, mobile, and insurance in one account, one one bill, with significant savings. While doing this we also provide a best in class second income for thousands of families through our Partner model.

UW is a truly unique company. We have a unique business model, a unique way of getting products to market. No-one else is offering a multi-service solution like we do. We’ve built our base of over 750,000 customers via our network of 50,000 Partners around the country who earn an income recommending our services to their friends, families and people they know, and helping them to sign up to multiple services in one go or potentially become an official Partner themselves..

It’s never been a better time to join UW. As the cost of living rises at unprecedented pace we are uniquely placed in the market, with a distinct USP and strong consumer demand. We are growing fast and are looking for the right sort of leader to join our Product team, reporting to the CPO.

It’s never been a better time to join UW. As the cost of living rises at unprecedented pace we are uniquely placed in the market, with a distinct USP and strong consumer demand. We are growing fast and are looking for the right sort of leader to join our Product team, reporting to the CPO.

Key Challenges

  • Partners are a powerful force - able to sign up multiservice customers in ways that digital channels struggle to replicate. We need to make the Partner model much more scalable, while still keeping that strength

  • The Partner network is complex and dynamic with leadership dynamics and Partners coming from all walks of life - from young people who are looking for a 21st century way of earning, to retired business owners keeping busy as they get older. Understanding what they want and need requires relentless focus and a strong drive to understand our customers’ problems

  • Our Partner proposition is primed to take off in the current economic environment as we offer a genuine and uniquely positioned opportunity to build a sustainable passive income. How can we best nail product-market fit - the right features and incentive model expressed through the right channels with the right message to really fulfil that promise?

  • We have built strong technical foundations and have good Engineers and UX professionals in place, but need to grow and build capable Partner product function, so there is a lot to define. This is a challenge, but also a great opportunity.

That sounds great, but what will you be doing?

  • Owning the product strategy for Partner Experience and roadmaps for digital tools that support end-to-end management of the Partner lifecycle and core Partner journeys - customer and Partner gathering, onboarding, team performance management, news, engagement and events etc
  • Delivering improvements to KPIs such as Partner satisfaction, Partner engagement, new Partner success and overall volumes of Partner-generated sales
  • Making sure we build amazing Partner journeys that incorporate our app, web and comms channels in integrated ways that makes sense
  • Managing and growing a team of two to four Product managers, and effectively aligning them into cross-functional teams looking after different parts of the Partner Experience strategy
  • Being a senior member of the product leadership team alongside our Head of Customer Experience, VP of Home Services and Head of UX
  • Really getting into and understanding Partners so you can bring their voice to life - ensuring they’re always at the heart of how your team makes decisions, and factored into broader product strategy
  • Making sure the Product development strategy and roadmap across your teams is clear, focussed and prioritised towards value delivery
  • Ensuring we’re clear on the outcomes we’re trying to achieve and are owning, measuring and sharing key product metrics, impacts and learnings
  • Working very closely with the other Product areas to make sure everyone is pulling in the same direction on aligned goals and objectives
  • Supporting Tech leadership in making sure we keep tech debt at a manageable level and make the right investments in architecture to deliver a clear multi-channel partner experience with as little overhead as possible
  • Guiding Data and UX leadership to deliver improvements to the way we utilise data and UX in order to improve organisational understanding of Partners, their behaviour, what problems we are trying to solve, and how, and what is most valuable to the business
  • Collaborating with Partner Leadership in validating our Partner Proposition, and ensuring the product development roadmap compliments it
  • Working with Partner leadership to identify future opportunities for how we can continue  to leverage the Partner network as a core organisational USP and drive future business growth and opportunity

After a successful first six months you will:

  • feel like you really understand what it takes to be a successful Partner and what the key blockers are to being one (ideally you are one yourself)
  • have a clear idea of the ‘must-haves’ in the context of the above and have a product roadmap that reflects it
  • have recruited one to two Product Managers in addition to the single one in place and be starting to see an acceleration in velocity and ability to deliver value on a couple of fronts
  • have a very close working relationship with the VP of Engineering for Partner and Growth
  • be an integrated member of the Partner leadership team, contributing to overall clarity of priority discussions through insight, experience and potential product solutions to problems

You’ll love working for us if you...

  • have a passion for understanding real people, their goals, and challenges, and are happy engaging directly with your customers
  • have a demonstrated high bar of quality for good interaction design and digital experience
  • are commercially-aware and comfortable with back-of the envelope calculations
  • are outcome not delivery-focussed and seek out information you need to be so
  • are interested in the dynamics of network effects, and markets
  • enjoy coaching product managers and enabling fantastic product management with experience managing and mentoring Senior Product Managers
  • have hands-on experience with agile software development and lean approaches to optimising product-market fit
  • are pragmatic do-er, not a purist and can… balance with right way to do things, with getting things done, obsess over the details but also love to paint a bigger picture as well as being able to paint a compelling vision of the future but also be clear on short term priorities
  • think about whole product solutions, and what constitutes good product-market-fit
  • know your strengths, and recognise there’s always more to learn
  • are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others
  • embrace iteration and are comfortable with change
  • are motivated and ambitious, both for yourself and the business you work for
What’s it in for you

Join a high growth FTSE 250 business and help us deliver our growth ambitions whilst learning and having fun. Become part of a fantastic business culture where people really are at the heart of everything we do.
