The Role
As the Head of Product - New Ventures, you will assume strategic leadership of Cleo’s New Bets pillar. This role is pivotal in driving the discovery, validation, and development of innovative product concepts that diversify Cleo’s revenue streams. You will:
- Define the strategic direction for new ventures, aligning with Cleo’s overarching goals.
- Manage and mentor a dynamic team of Product Managers focused on turning new concepts into scalable solutions.
- Hands-on in creating and leading the validation process to decide swiftly on moving forward or shelving new ideas, in close collaboration with Cleo’s leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership of the New Bets Pillar: Collaborate with the Product Director to craft strategies that spawn scalable and impactful product concepts.
- Management of New Bets Product Managers: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering an environment of creativity and rigorous validation.
- End-to-End Concept Discovery: Oversee the research and validation processes for new ideas, ensuring they meet business model and market fit criteria.
- Facilitate Leadership Alignment: Serve as the primary liaison between the New Bets team and Cleo’s executive leadership.
- Develop and Prioritize the Idea Pipeline: Implement frameworks to nurture a steady flow of high-potential ideas, prioritizing them effectively.
- Handover of Validated Concepts: Ensure a smooth transition of validated concepts to product squads for execution.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with various teams to refine and transform early-stage ideas into validated products, accelerating the path from concept to launch.
- Shape Strategic Direction Beyond the Pillar: Identify trends and opportunities that inform Cleo’s strategic roadmap.
Ideal Profile
- Proven Strategic Leadership: Extensive experience in leading product strategy and teams within dynamic, consumer-focused high-growth tech environments.
- People Management: Demonstrated success in managing other senior product managers, promoting a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Expertise in 0→1 Product Development: Solid history of launching impactful new products within B2C or fintech sectors.
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in engaging with and gaining buy-in from senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic and Commercial Acumen: Keen understanding of market trends, customer needs, and effective business strategies.
