Head of Product Design

Kong is seeking a Head of Product Design to help drive the design innovation, iteration, and optimization of all existing and future Kong products.

This role leads the Product Design team which currently consists of a single director and a team of designers. The Product Design team at Kong is responsible for the end-to-end Product Design across all our Kong products, including Kong Konnect, Kong Insomnia, Kong Enterprise, Kong Gateway, and Kong Mesh. This team is also responsible for Product Design on new products in development in the Kong portfolio. 

In turn, this role guides the overall vision and standards for Kong’s software user experience and visual UI design practices.

This role represents the interests of the collective Product Design team at the executive level; defining product strategy, defining team structure, top-level processes, and resourcing plans to achieve Kong’s overall strategic goals.  It does so in partnership with peer teams and their leaders across other Product teams (Product Management, Engineering, and Developer Experience), the Marketing Design team, and stakeholder teams (Sales, Legal, Content, et. al.)

This role reports directly to the executive of Product, Reza Shafii.
