As Head of Design, you will set the design vision, strategy, workflow and team structure to achieve world-class design status for SafetyCulture. You will also work to enable streamlined collaboration among our designers and our product, marketing, and engineering teams at scale.
How you will spend your time
- Lead SafetyCulture's entire product design function, building a fit for purpose team structure and ways of working to meet stakeholder needs;
- Collaborating with stakeholders around the company to understand the needs of their teams and establishing a team structure and end-to-end workflow designed to best serve those needs;
- Build processes that ensure all designs delivered are consistent and have high quality;
- Understand the company goals and help your team make impactful decisions that drive these;
- Lead and mentor designers on your team, building a collaborative and positive environment within a quickly expanding team;
- Accurately forecast the needs of the teams and hire accordingly;
- Be bold and bring action. Push your team to take smart risks and take an iterative approach to design;
- Develop and maintain design competencies frameworks that help coach and lead designers in their career growth;
- Create best-in-class, industry-leading design systems across product teams that position SafetyCulture as a leader of great design;
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to develop simple yet impactful processes that help drive consistent and elegant designs.
About You
- Product Design Leadership;

- Experience navigating relationships with large teams, dealing with high levels of interdependency and complexity;
- An exceptional ability to empower and manage teams of designers;
- Authentic leadership style, with proven ability to clearly articulate your vision for Design and achieve quality results, that delight your customers and team;
- People Leadership - building and retaining a high performance team;
- Ideally experience scaling design in a SAAS/Tech business;A growth mindset and focus on continuous improvement;
- Experience driving excellence and best practice;
- A self starter, creative, self aware, knowledgeable and proactive;
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders;
- Able to demonstrate SafetyCulture values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action).
