Our mission

Definitely not a sweet shop.

We're the tech company making insurance more accessible and more affordable for as many people as possible.

We’re proud of our journey so far. We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of customers get fairer cover, all while being rated excellent on Trustpilot. But we’re just getting started.

Over the next 2 years, we’re planning to help even more people by launching products and services across different sectors and countries 🚀

If you're looking for a challenge, our next chapter is set to be an exciting one 🙌

How we work

We've created a culture of trust which allows us to work autonomously without fear of failure, to challenge decisions, and be heard. It empowers us to drive our own careers and to move at unparalleled speed. And because we're treading new ground, we're all mastering new skills along the way.

The Role

We are looking for a Group Product Manager to own the vision and strategy of the product suite within our claims tribe. This tribe is responsible for making sure when our customers claim it is as pain-free, and economic as possible. It is a complex area with over 100 operations professionals, numerous partner integrations, 15k+ claims per year, & £100m+ of spend.

The team you will lead currently consists of 1 product team (design, product, engineers, analytics) that has built the foundations of our claims system, but our ambition is large and the team is expected to grow to 3 teams over the next 12 months. You will report directly to Chris Sampson, our VP of Claims, and be a part of the claims leadership team.

Claims is critical to our future because (1) it is responsible for 70%+ of our expenditure (2) it is the most important customer touch-point (3) it is ripe for technological innovation.

We believe this is one of the most critical roles we are hiring this year.

What you’ll be doing

  • Making us the number 1 insurer at handling claims from both an efficiency/spend and customer perspective

  • Creating a compelling vision and strategy for the product suite that manages our claims

  • Outlining a sequential plan to get to our compelling vision

  • Using research in and outside of our four walls to understand what is the biggest opportunity in claims, both when we are handling them and when our partners are handling them

  • Effectively working with engineers/designers/data science/ops leaders to find problems and come up with innovative solution

Who you are

  • 8+ years relevant experience

  • Bold - You have the confidence, and demonstrable ability, to solve problems using first principles and deep user understanding rather than competitor analysis

  • Structured problem finder - You break-down large problems in to bite sized pieces that can be easily understood and tackled

  • Structured problem solver - You have an insatiable appetite to be part of a team that solves the most important problems it finds

  • Strong written & verbal communicator - You feel confident writing plans & vision documents to get stakeholder alignment, alongside verbal communication

  • Intrinsically motivated - You are motivated to improve as a feature of your character

  • Bonus: experience launching new products, experience starting a company, experience working in both start-ups and more established environments

Perks of the job

  • Fast-paced environment - A very strong team of ambitious and collaborative people, who are motivated to do their best work

  • Hybrid work - Spend 3 days a week with your team in our London office

  • Competitive bonus scheme - designed to reward and recognise high performance 🌟

  • Flexible benefits budget - £50 per month to spend on a Ben Mastercard meaning you get your own benefits budget to spend on things you want. Whether that’s subscriptions, night classes (puppy yoga, anyone?), the big shop or a forest of houseplants. Pretty much anything goes 💰

  • Mental wellbeing support – Access therapy and mental health sessions through Oliva 💚

  • Learning and development – Personal budgets for books and training courses to help you grow in your role. Plus 2 days a year - on us! - to further your skillset 🤓

  • Private health care - Enjoy all the benefits Vitality has to offer, including reduced gym memberships and discounts on smartwatches 🏥

  • Medical cash plan - To help you with the costs of dental, optical and physio (plus more!)

  • Tech scheme - Get the latest tech for less 🖥

Plus all the rest; 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, cycle to work scheme, monthly team socials and company-wide socials every month!

Our process

We break it up into 4 stages:

  • Initial call with Luke Watts our Talent Acquisition Lead (45 mins)

  • Behavioural interview with Alexander, one of our founders (60 minutes)

  • Product Challenge with Faris, Group PM, and Georgia, head of design (90 minutes)

  • Culture interview with Chris Sampson, VP of operations (60 minutes)

  • We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give individual feedback on each application
