About This Position

As a Freelance Brand Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating visual design assets that deliver a consistent brand experience. You’ll apply your abilities in storytelling to make meaningful creative that engages our target audience across our marketing channels and surfaces. You’ll collaborate closely with Growth Marketing, Brand, Content, and Creative at every stage from ideation and storyboarding to execution. You're a resourceful, conceptual thinker who can bring your ideas to life in new and inspiring ways. 

This opportunity is a great match for an adaptable creative who can execute across channels and formats – this opportunity will have a focus particularly on web design with some exposure to on-off brand emails, one pagers, decks, and artwork. 

This freelance role is initially expected to require 10-15 hours per week but could vary over time depending on business needs. Please note this is a consultant position (part-time, independent contractor).

Day-to-day you will:

• Execute on design projects, partnering and collaborating with stakeholders and creative leadership along the way
• Work both independently and collaboratively, taking ownership on projects and bringing in appropriate stakeholders at various stages
• Partner with Growth Marketing and Creative teams on omni-channel projects/campaigns and cross-functional launches
• Create engaging, scalable designs that span marketing channels (i.e. marketing site pages, article artwork, one-pagers, brand emails, offline assets, etc.)
• Bring excellent communication skills with the ability to explain your design decisions and embrace constructive criticism as part of the design process
• Give and receive design feedback among peers
• Deliver design solutions that align with and amplify the Ellevest brand
  

We’re looking for:

• A multi-disciplinary designer with strong web design skills as well as visual design experience; in-house/start up experience is a plus
• A strong point of view with the ability to communicate through craft, composition, imagery, typography and color
• Able to take a project from brief to execution, partnering and collaborating with business owners and creative leadership along the way
• An excellent communicator who can explain your design decisions and embrace constructive criticism as part of the design process
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of assignments
• Experience creating engaging, scalable designs that span multiple marketing channels (i.e. paid ads, lifecycle emails, landing pages, offline assets, etc)
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
• Passion for our women-oriented mission

Ellevest's compensation framework is based on relevant data, benchmarking and research for comparable companies and on our internal pay equity policies. The prospective pay rate for this freelance role is $100/hour. The actual offer will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team. This is an independent contractor position and is not eligible for health insurance, retirement, or parental leave benefits.
