Your Impact

As the Director of Product Operations at TASER, you will have overall execution responsibility for the planning and operational rhythm of the TASER business. You will own the overall processes associated with operating the TASER business to include strategic planning, budgeting, operations, and new product development. The Product Operations function is new for the TASER business and you will be responsible for standing up the structure/processes and building out a team to carry out all of the activities associated.

The successful candidate will coordinate a group of interrelated initiatives and teams into a cohesive model that coordinates expectations, resourcing, and goals to ensure cross-functional owners are aligned and progress is being made toward achieving strategic outcomes. The ability to bring disparate models and teams across the enterprise to ensure a low friction model that enables strategic business outcomes, increases collaboration, improves visibility and decreases risks is critical.

What You’ll Do

Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Reports to: SVP, Taser

  • Overall responsible for building out the Product Operations function for the TASER business unit at Axon.
  • Serve as a primary advisor to the Head of TASER on all activities to help ensure the business structures and processes mature to support the growth of the business.
  • Develop positive relationships and outline planning/coordination processes with key technology, functional leaders and stakeholders to drive focus on the strategic program objectives and optimize project delivery.
  • Work with Finance, recruiting, and planning business communities to ensure excellence in all operational and fiscal activities including staffing levels, budgets, and planning
  • Apply internal tools and an agile approach that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Developing and leading regular ‘rhythm of the business’ calendar, including regular review of projects and progress against goals
  • Leads and participates in initiatives to identify and implement process improvements in support of our business
  • Scale key activities around data management, analytics, and reporting across our integrated planning processes for developing our long-range plans, quarterly business reviews, and budgeting processes with a focus on key decisions to be made about product improvements.
  • Drive analysis and recommendations to help build scalable processes for managing against our budget targets and gaining insight into how we invest our dollars across the portfolio
  • Build out a formal structure/process for talent recruitment and development to unlock the single biggest blocker to future growth - staffing and ramping key resources.
  • Own the product launch process for TASER products to ensure effective integration into the product ecosystem at Axon.

What you'll bring

  • >10 years of experience working cross-functionally to develop and launch products. Specifically, as a product manager or product operations specialist.
  • 5+ years of management experience, leading diverse, cross-functional, international teams.
  • Experience with product portfolio management, specifically with building and driving process associated with resource prioritization, product development, and product end of life.
  • Experience working with HW and SW teams on connected devices
  • Familiarity with advanced electronics products and enterprise customers
  • Experience managing all activities associated with a product lifecycle to include - Go-To-Market plan creation, demand planning, supply chain and manufacturing strategy, and sales support.
  • Detail oriented, structured thinker and communicator
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience owning the product lifecycle of a HW and SW product from product definition through launch
  • Bachelors degree in a technical (engineering) or business related field
  • Prefer project management experience and certifications
  • Prefer MBA or similar advanced degree in business/product management.
  • Prefer experience working with law enforcement, military, or other governmental agencies
