JOB TITLE: Director, Product Management 
LOCATION: Remote


THE ROLE: The Director of Product Management is a critical leadership role responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate is an expert in product management with a proven track record of delivering exceptional B2C products, leveraging their strong analytical skills and customer-centric mindset. They will lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration while actively contributing to day-to-day product management activities. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance. The Director of Product Management will report directly to the SVP of Product and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company's product offerings.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the product, design, and engineering teams in defining and executing product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate product plans, progress updates, and results to senior management, stakeholders, and other relevant parties, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
  • Define, establish, and regularly monitor key performance metrics to measure product success, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance.
  • Lead and mentor the product management team, fostering growth and development. 
  • Actively contribute to day-to-day product management activities, such as defining roadmap, backlog grooming, user story creation, and sprint planning, to lead by example and maintain a deep understanding of the product and its users.
  • Foster a customer-centric mindset within the product team, ensuring that understanding and addressing customer needs remain at the forefront of all product development efforts. Guide the team in leveraging market research, data analysis, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and drive continuous product improvement.
  • Be an excellent problem solver by being able to look at opportunities from multiple angles and coming up with creative business plans to be successfully realized in a fast-paced environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software product management for B2C products, demonstrating a strong track record of successfully launching products that meet or exceed business objectives.
  • Proficiency in both strategic planning and daily execution/optimization, with the ability to seamlessly transition between high-level visioning and hands-on problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience in attracting, developing, and retaining top product management talent, while providing guidance and support to help team members grow professionally and achieve their goals.
  • Skilled in managing multiple concurrent projects and deliverables, adeptly balancing short-term revenue goals with long-term strategic vision. Able to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a talent for unifying diverse teams and stakeholders around a shared vision and driving collaborative efforts towards common objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous situations with limited information. Comfortable making informed, data-driven decisions that involve tradeoffs and potential risks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices, with the ability to incorporate UX considerations into product strategy and decision-making processes.

The national pay range for this role is $195,000 - $215,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
