ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Director of User Experience to lead a team of Product Designers, User Researchers, and UX Writers.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Medical leadership to deliver value to both Ada's users and our healthcare partners.

As the Director of User Experience, you will drive user-centricity across the organization and actively contribute to the company's product vision and strategy.

Since the UX team is currently based in Europe, you will need a minimum of 4 working-hours overlap with the CET timezone.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

• Manage, lead, and develop a team of experienced Product Designers, User Researchers, and UX Writers—promoting individual growth and supporting a high-performing team of passionate experts.
• Drive and oversee Ada’s company-wide user experience strategy and vision to maximize business impact and product innovation.
• Ensure UX is a core component of the Ada product vision, and be an champion of user-centricity across the leadership team.
• In close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Medical leadership, transform the overall strategic vision into initiatives across Ada's product areas.
• Build and maintain relationships that foster cross-functional collaboration, effectively communicate user needs and understand business constraints.
• Maintain an inclusive and safe working environment with an open feedback culture where team members can effectively work together and be authentically themselves.
  
  

WHAT YOU WILL BRING :

• Minimum of 10 years experience as a Product Designer, User Researcher or Service Designer in various environments (Start-up or scale-up experience required).
• Minimum of 5 years experience managing and growing UX teams across multiple levels of seniority.
• Demonstrable success in developing and implementing a comprehensive UX strategy that is both aligned with and in support of business goals and the overall product strategy.
• Proven track record of delivering UX with demonstrable user value in a highly agile environment.
• Knowledge and experience working with private healthcare companies and/or public health organizations in the United States.  Knowledge of medical industry regulations and/or medical devices is a plus.
• In-depth understanding of the context and challenges of designing end-to-end experiences across various use cases and integration points.
• Experience facilitating design processes with clients and/or partners.
• Grounds design decisions in user research, metrics and business goals while empowering the team to focus on delivering end-to-end experiences that are meaningful, cohesive, accessible, and usable.
• Experience navigating ambiguity and proactively working on bringing clarity and alignment across project and leadership teams.
• Demonstrate high levels of integrity, trustworthiness and ethical standards.
• Experience with lean UX execution that emphasizes cross-functional contributions and an iterative approach through continuous delivery and discovery.
