Plaid’s Design Operations team plays a critical role in scaling our centralized Design function including Brand Design, Product Design, Research, and Design Systems. We’re looking for a hands-on manager to recruit, grow, and lead a team of Program Managers and Producers, and drive execution against our mission to make it easy for designers to do their best work.
As Design Operations Manager, you’ll partner with Design Leadership and collaborators in EPDS Operations to foster the people, practices, and processes that drive a healthy Design organization. The scope of Design Operations today includes tooling, vendor management, design process, planning, project management, and community programming. Initially as a manager of 3 individual contributors, you’ll take a player-coach role to drive the most strategic components of Design Operations (strategy & planning, budget allocation, leadership meetings, and high-level execution systems), and as your team grows, you’ll dedicate your time to full-time people development.
In this role, you’ll report to a centralized, craft-driven EPDS Operations team responsible for the efficacy of our PDLC and SDLC. You’ll act as the voice of Design in company-wide operational discussions and decisions, and own components of Plaid’s PDLC.

- 5+ years of experience in an EPD-focused operations or program management role.2+ years of people management experience.

- Experience bringing order to a complex situation with various stakeholders who approach strategic problems in different ways.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, transparent, empowering, and high accountability culture.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in User Research and Research Operations.
