About The Role

As a Design Manager, you will lead the APAC design function in creating delightful product experiences that put users first and drive long-term business results. You'll guide overall design strategy, encompassing visual design, experience design, and design systems, facing both consumers and B2B clients. The leader in this role is responsible for a 5-person organisation of product designers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of designing and building intuitive, impactful, and beautiful digital experiences.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, managing, mentoring, and growing direct reports.
  • Experience establishing a strategic vision for design across all aspects of a product and service and working with PMs, engineering leadership, and teams to drive work towards that vision.
  • Demonstrated history of championing what’s best for the user while leveraging design to contribute to moving business metrics - using data to make design decisions.
  • History leading and hiring product designers, content designers, and UX researchers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with your team and maintain high levels of credibility with stakeholders about your process and the problem you’re solving.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading Product Design and UX organisations within a cross-functional organisation.
  • Confident, efficient, and persuasive in presentations to C-suite and other top executives.
  • Pragmatic, flexible, and confident leader, who can operate in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director of APAC who leads the Sydney Product Team, our Design Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing UX design, UX experimentation & user research, for: 1) consumer experience rendered by Rokt on our partner ecommerce sites including offers provided by third parties which feel like seamless extensions of the ecommerce partner experience; 2) UX, discoverability, usability of our "One Platform" marketplace management tool, used by our supply-side ecommerce partners, demand-side advertisers and providers, and internal Customer Success and Operations teams.
  • Background as a strong creative, hands-on UX designer with experience in UX optimisation and experimentation strongly preferred.
  • Someone who can inspire and challenge individual designers, but also be passionate and compelling in presenting design concepts to Rokt leaders and top-tier external clients exemplified by Ticketmaster, Uber, Hulu, Apple, and Disney.
  • Build a Product Design strategy that supports the company’s ambitions of building the best eCommerce products in the world.
  • Drive a data-centric product culture by capturing and leveraging insights from this highly engaged user base into effective conversion and retention strategies while creating a seamless user experience.
  • Incorporate quantitative and qualitative feedback to understand core customer problems to transform onsite experiences and provide an amazing user experience
  • Oversee and manage a team of Product Design ICs who will drive the Product Design vision day-to-day.
  • Work across teams such as product, technology, content, and marketing - as a client and as a service provider, but most importantly as a teammate
  • Develop a product vision that drives a best-in-class design experience for our current customers, while pragmatically balancing business objectives and KPIs.

As we strive to build a community of curious explorers, we also offer generous relocation packages for those interested in moving to another Rokt office. We have bustling offices in great cities including New York, Sydney, London, Singapore, and Tokyo.
  • We believe we’re better together. We love spending time together and are in the office most days (most teams are in the office 3-4 days per week). We also get that you need to balance your life and your commitments so you have the flexibility to manage your own hours and can spend up to a week of every quarter working from anywhere.
  • We believe in equality. Rokt is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we know our collective strength comes from how different we all are.
