Design Manager – Campaigns

About the department:

Marketing builds awareness, drives acquisition, and expands usage by developing innovative, breakthrough campaigns that are delivered through multiple channels, including our website, social media, events, and advertising. The Brand Creative Studio plays a central role by partnering closely with the Brand and Demand Generation campaign and event teams to 1) help build brand awareness campaigns, and 2) develop creative strategies that help fuel growth campaigns.

As a Design Lead within the marketing team, you’ll be the owner of the campaign and event design and creative workstreams. While reporting to the Creative Director, you will work closely with the other design leads on the team to ensure Cloudflare’s campaigns and events are on-brand, and fully plugged into our brand design system.

About the role

Cloudflare is looking for a Design Lead to join the Brand Creative Studio within the Cloudflare marketing team. You will be a senior member of the team - a leader, owning the creative and design execution of large scale brand and product campaign and event initiatives, and having the opportunity to make a significant impact in helping communicate who Cloudflare and its products are to the world. Since Brand and Demand Generation make up a significant portion of the marketing team’s initiatives, we are looking to bring on a design leader who works closely with the Creative Director and can work in lockstep with those teams and be a strong creative strategic partner to them.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

• Create designs for digital and print marketing from concept to implementation and help develop integrated marketing campaigns that encompass the entire spectrum of digital and print experiences.
• Lead the Brand Creative Studio Campaigns team in-house, by providing high quality, actionable feedback, and career mentorship and support.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing managers, Creative Director, Writers, and Designers throughout concept, development and execution of marketing materials and experiences.
• Develop the experiential creative and visual language for all global Cloudflare event experiences, from trade booth appearances to multi-day corporate events.
• Demonstrate expertise in the craft of art and design - including typography, photography, and graphic design that connects emotionally and rationally with consumers
• Work alongside Cloudflare’s global marketing teams, with an eye toward developing culturally-relevant designs in local markets for a global audience.
• Develop design templates and self-enablement tools for internal teams. 
• Maintain a thorough and current awareness of the competitive landscape as it pertains to visual communications in print and digital customer touchpoints
• Participate in creative critique meetings that result in high-quality outputs, keeping the bar for design and consistency elevated.
• Uphold the bar for high quality, insightful, and differentiating design work.

Requirement:

• 8+ years experience designing for an agency or in-house design team, with a preferable focus on campaigns, events, creative concepting, and designing for global markets at a tech, product-driven company; an added bonus if your experience has been on an enterprise or B2B focused marketing team.
• 2+ years of experience managing designers.
• A strong visual design portfolio demonstrating a range of work across different mediums, with an emphasis on process and a focus on successful large-scale campaigns with varied deliverables, experiential event design, and/or design that demonstrates cultural awareness for a global audience.
• Experience art directing external agencies, and keeping large-scale projects on track.
• Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design or related field.
