Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are looking for a Design Manager to join our Cloud Acceleration Team as part of the migrations organization. In this role, you will lead and manage an experience design team focused on building capabilities that help our customers shift their product usage from self-managed Server versions to Atlassian Cloud.
As a Design Manager, you will manage a group of Designers and Content Designers, supporting them in delivering the right migrations experience for our customers. You will also work closely with product management, engineering and other stakeholders, defining and driving the strategy for this team.
You are passionate about making people better; you provide support and guidance to your team in constructive ways that inspire, energize, and increase their quality of work. If you have the drive and passion to steer experience design direction and grow design at Atlassian, then this role could be for you.
When you join us, you will:
- lead and inspire a mix of five product and content designers, helping them to do the best work of their lives.
- be a strategic partner, collaborating with design leadership to drive our migration vision.
- partner with engineering and product management to define the strategy and goals for the mission.
- steer the strategic design direction and help folks break it down into deliverable pieces.
- lead team members in creating user-centric experiences with meaningful feedback loops.
- encourage the use of data and research insights to test and improve user experiences.
- set new craft quality standards across design and content creation processes.
You tick these boxes:
- 2 years of experience with managing a cross-craft design team (including content designers)
- 6+ years working in the UX field on enterprise-grade products
- experience in planning and then delivering user-centric experiences autonomously
- great facilitation skills and a track record of collaborating with other functions, like engineering and product management.
- bring storytelling to the fore with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- develop a high degree of influence with all kinds of internal partners, including senior leadership.
- a passion for making people better by supporting and guiding a team in constructive ways that encourage, energize, and increase their quality of work.
