Design Manager (Athlete job at Dapper

Are you a Design Leader looking for a chance to make an impact on the sports industry with a brand new tech-forward product? Dapper Labs is looking for a Design Manager to help set the creative vision for our professional athlete clients.

The Design Manager will be responsible for leading projects and defining the short, medium and long-term vision for Athlete Studio with milestones, and short-term actions to get there. You will be responsible for roadmap planning, and being the guardian of the team.

What we'll accomplish together:

Lead and hire a world-class team of creatives.
Define the next generation of sports collectibles > Set and maintain the bar for our NFL product’s creative vision
Bringing the vision to reality: Work cross disciplines and create a roadmap planning that will align with the product goals, and work with the creative team to bring the product vision to life roadmap planning and giving input to help bring the product vision to life

What you’ll be responsible for:

Working with the Athlete Studio team to understand the product goals.
Planning to make sure the creative vision and planning will support the product vision.
Managing creative across graphic, motion, campaigns and more.
Define creative strategies for new campaigns.
Ensuring the quality of creativity, performance, and timely execution.
Partner with agencies and freelancers.
Reviewing agency proposals working with them on key product milestones.
Managing 3-5+ people.
Engaging with stakeholders and ensuring all expectations are defined and aligned and to assure the metrics are set up to measure success.

A little about you:

5+ years of experience in an environment creating B2B and/or B2C communications.
2+ years of demonstrated creative success in leading collaborative and multi-functional teams.
A stellar portfolio that shows creative range and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to negotiate on behalf of the creative team.
Experience managing, educating, and training a team of 5+ creative professionals.
Zero ego: open and honest with intentions, goals, failings and expectations. Dependable to a fault, leading to deep trust amongst direct reports.
