The Creative Director will be responsible for leading the overall creative, design, video, and UX/UI teams to deliver on design, video, and concept briefs. They will lead the creation of effective visual and conceptual marketing communications and campaign designs that align with brand and product proposition needs. 

This role requires a strong design background coupled with independent thinking, team management, strong communication skills, organization, and planning skills. In this role, they will work closely with the Product Design, Content, Product Marketing, Communications, CVM, and Acquisition teams. 

What you'll do:

  • Manage and inspire the creative process from concept to completion
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
  • Supervise a cross-functional team of graphic designers, videographers, animation designers, UX/UI designers, and project managers in the strategic development of design output
  • Prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs, establishing production schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and product marketing
  • Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative teams, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Review and approve art and copy developed by the team, ensuring deliverables that effectively address marketing goals
  • Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling digital experiences for visually sophisticated audiences
  • Present, or oversee the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
  • Drive creative strategy, create innovative branding solutions and implement brand design systems that are aligned to brand propositions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to create best-in-class, innovative design concepts that align with Readdle’s brand and product vision
  • Encourage a culture of continuous feedback and improvement, productive thinking, and collaboration within the creative and design community at Readdle
  • Shape brand standards and create procedures to ensure all output is brand appropriate
  • Review work, troubleshoot, and provide feedback to creative team members
  • Hire train and mentor creative team members
  • Manage and cultivate the career development of staff members, including designers, art directors, videographers, and UX/UI designers

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, and other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 10 years of digital creative department leadership experience, particularly with, but not limited to mobile applications, web, social, and emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with a variety of software (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Figma, etc.) 
  • A solid understanding of design, copy, and web practices
  • Brilliant interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Talent in presenting information concisely and accurately, with keen attention to detail
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
  • Problem-solving and project-management skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, and production management skills
  • Track record of leading creative and design teams  
  • Have in-depth knowledge of brand development and multichannel marketing models
  • Recent hands-on experience with applying design, copy, or mobile, web best practices
  • Professional business skills, such as negotiation, project management, and leadership
  • Work to tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects
