Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA.But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

We are looking for a Design Educator to join our team and produce effective educational content for our Core Product and NFP (nonprofit) audience. They will be responsible for creating content across a variety of media that showcases the ease and value of Canva so that we can empower everyone to design.

This role will support various content outputs, such as in-app learning activities, playbooks, how-to videos, email and landing page content. This role would also act as a trainer and facilitator for virtual and in person learning as required for events. Their time will be split between product-focused content that is relevant to all Canva users, and specific initiatives targeted to NFP (nonprofits).

The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with the ability to craft creative and engaging learning content, the ability to facilitate and train, as well as having great time management skills and a can-do attitude. Experience working with nonprofits is highly desirable.

Help our community to achieve their goals through educational content, giving creative confidence to design in Canva

Create content that teaches the core Canva product and best design practices for various marketing formats and across lots of brand touchpoints

Work with the product marketing team to understand priority features and audience, and create content plans that will achieve team goals

Plan and create content to launch new products to market through campaigns and distribution channels, including email marketing

Create a regular cadence of Design School content for every learning style, innovating new ways to teach the world to design

What we are looking for

  • Experience educating others through creation and delivery of learning content
  • Ability to understand and communicate design concepts (bonus if you have a professional Graphic Design background)
  • Content creation skills for various marketing formats: able to write and create content with strong copy skills across educational content, in-product, videos, emails, web pages and lots of brand touch points
  • An ability to make complex things simple: you’re able to systematically think through processes to create quality branded content
  • Make effective decisions: able to prioritise projects based on impact, drive projects forward and ensure we’re meeting team and business goals
  • Pursue excellence: you are process-driven, able to manage multiple projects, keep others on track and assess and measure the effectiveness of work
  • Confident and clear communication skills: for constant collaboration, engaging presentation delivery and dealing with multiple stakeholders on a day-to-day basis. You will be able to confidently present ideas to your audience and influence them to try new things.
  • Understanding of the nonprofit space and how to create content that is relevant to the needs of this audience - including the issues and challenges nonprofits face (especially regarding tech issues and design needs), the tools they use (or lack), their major stakeholders and their strategies and activities to achieve their goals
  • This is a perfect role for a designer turned teacher (or vice versa) who has a track record with nonprofits or social impact experience
