In this role you will work closely with the Content Strategist for Growth and SEO to craft high-quality, detailed content for the Skillshare blog with the goal of improving its quality and performance. Online learning is an extremely competitive space, so you must be able to write content that will stand out, compete & convert, and be interesting and helpful to our readers.
This is a long-term engagement with guaranteed work every week, provided you meet all of the requirements below.
What you'll do:
- Write how-to content; explaining topics thoroughly in a casual & friendly, yet professional & authoritative voice.
- Write blog posts in a way that encourages conversion.
- Optimize content with keywords that will be provided to you (no keyword research necessary)
- Write post titles that are optimized, unique, interesting and eye-catching, and meta descriptions that grab searchers’ attention and encourage click through.
Why we're excited about you
- You have 4+ years' experience writing web content.
- You are detail-oriented. Producing content is extremely detailed work; every single word counts.
- You have the ability to empathize and relate to our readers, and an excellent understanding of grammar and mechanics.
- You can consistently meet deadlines and create content in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
- You have a working knowledge of SEO, specifically as it pertains to content, including writing optimized content with keywords and a clear understanding of relevance and intent to optimize anchor text for internal links.
- Bonus points if you have experience writing in the online learning space or for enterprise-level clients.
- Super Bonus points if you can write fluently in Spanish, French, Portuguese or German.
Compensation
- $.25 per word starting rate
- $75 per hour for training and meetings
- $5 per image added to each post (not to buy images, but to compensate for time finding them)
- One-year membership to Skillshare’s learning platform
