The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and optimistic designer with a diverse skill set to lead the next era of our marketing website, Amperity.com. As a member of Amperity’s Brand Studio, you’ll work closely with a dedicated web team, writers, marketers, and other designers to expand our web presence with new pages, visuals, interactions, systems, and stories. From mapping new information architectures to refining typography and icons to bringing to life animations that showcase what the world’s best customer data platform can do. You’ll also work with the product marketing team to build collateral and templates that support the technical side of our storytelling. This is a role for a designer seeking more ownership, autonomy, and a small team of collaborators to create career-defining work. 

Responsibilities 

  • - Coordinating closely with our web development team to support a CMS-based website
  • - Maintaining and innovating UI and UX design systems and patterns
  • - Designing and coordinating key imagery and iconography that support our storytelling
  • - Leading design-centric projects and coordinating cross-disciplinary contributors towards successful outcomes. 
  • - Collaborate with product marketers, writers, and designers to showcase what makes our platform special in compelling and understandable ways 
  • - Managing and evolving a component library and content management system  
  • - Contributing to and helping evolve standards of excellence for processes and collaboration  
  • - Keeping pace with and introducing new tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • - Identifying, validating, and prioritizing areas of focus for improvement 
  • - Coordinating, collecting and synthesizing feedback (quantitative and qualitative) to inspire change
  • - Maintaining and innovating email systems design (primarily external, but offering internal support) 
  • - Designing 

About you

  • - 5+ years of web design experience working in a fast-paced environment 
  • - SaaS experience is great, but not required 
  • - You enjoy distilling complex ideas into simple, relatable stories
  • - You’re skilled at presenting and concepts / decisions and seeking feedback to produce better outcomes 
  • - You ask why, all the time. In work and in play. Then you ask why a few more times.
  • - Maybe you’ve had a dream or two about Figma 
  • - Or maybe one about an interdimensional adventure with the pen tool and a radio button  
  • - You might find yourself graphic-designing just for fun outside of the 9-5. 
  • - You can get a little weird sometimes 
  • - You’re a hands-on builder first, and a coordinator second. 
  • - You might want to manage people or maybe you already have. 
  • - Maybe you’re interested in more of an individual contributor path (we’re flexible)
  • - You can share stories about shipping (or even leading) projects, from defining the problem to launch
  • - You’re often inspecting pages to learn how something was built
  • - You’ve lead something meaningful, somewhere in your life, and are excited to talk about it
  • - When you’re running late (it happens) you let them know
  • - Once you figured out what design was, it was hard to imagine doing anything else.

Skills / tools 

  • - Figma / Sketch / Web design + prototyping
    - Google Suite — esp Google slides 
  • - Adobe fundamentals 
  • - Data visualization inclinations 
  • - Critical discourse + facilitation 
  • - Driving meetings (limited experience here is OK)

Candidates may also have

  • - Coding skills / interests / aptitude 
  • - Animation skills (web-based or otherwise)
  • - Illustration chops 
  • - Intergalactic passports
