Job Description 

We are looking for an experienced Brand Designer who can conceptualise and deliver a magical and consistent brand experience across varied creative touchpoints. A good understanding of various design applications across print, digital, motion, and packaging design is key to this role.

You will be part of the Canva Creative Team within the Brand Studio Squad and work in collaboration with Copywriters, Illustrators, Motion Designers and Video Editors to bring creative conceptual ideas to life. You will work closely with cross functional teams at Canva (Leadership, Operations, People Team, Talent Acquisition, Marketing) to understand our business and ensure our brand is consistent across all internal and external facing touch points.

How We Work

Our stakeholders include the Leadership, People & Marketing teams as well as internal business requirements across our Recruitment & Vibe teams. We are responsible for championing a consistent and human brand experience, and evolving it over time as we learn, grow and pursue excellence in design. We are continually scaling our brand globally through our network of external creative agency and production partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design creative assets to support new brand graphics, sub-branding, environmental signage, company-wide comms, print and swag assets, and a wide range of other creative outputs
  • Contribute to creative concepts and design asset rollout for quarterly and yearly company events and activations in collaboration with our Events and Vibe teams.
  • Develop internal design guidelines and toolkits for high priority sub-brands
  • Conceptualise and ideate a diverse range of branded content (print, experiential, digital and motion) that brings our core brand to life in exciting creative executions 
  • Collaborate with a team of writers, designers, animators and videographers to bring our brand assets to life in unique and unforgettable ways
  • Participate in and contribute  to conceptual workshops and ideation for video production requirements

About you

  • A master designer, able to beautifully visualise our brand and products to a diverse global audience and varied demographics. 
  • You love creating a sense of connection in your work between Canva and our internal and external audiences through consistent and beautiful design executions
  • You are the perfect balance between ideation at a conceptual level and execution, in bringing your ideas to life with immaculate attention to detail and passion for your craft
  • You are someone who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative and varied creative environment
  • You’re interested in developing your skills in art direction for video and motion production requirements
  • You have experience in collaborating with motion designers and video editors 
  • You’ve had a minimum of 5 years industry experience in  forward-thinking brand design roles either in-house or within an agency
  • Your online portfolio demonstrates: Strong brand design principles and craft, A modern style & aesthetic, Creative thinking and evidence of exploration and ideation
  • Proficiency with the Adobe creative suite and exposure to Figma or other prototyping tools
  • Prior experience using Canva is a bonus
