Job Description

Afterpay is looking for a Brand & Product Marketing leader to lead our North America team. This role will lead the newly formed go to marketing molecule and will oversee brand and product marketing managers for the region. The ideal candidate has a wealth of experience in either brand marketing and/product marketing, has the ability to work in a fast paced environment and has excellent communication and presentation skills, equal part creative and analytical. 

You will: 

  • Oversee GTM molecule in North America comprising of brand and product marketers
  • This role will focus on building, scaling and developing campaigns that help drive our brand forward and align with evolving our product marketing strategy
  • Be the brand gatekeeper across all assets both paid and owned and operated for North America
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketing channels, sales, design, PR and engineering to execute launch plans flawlessly
  • Oversee the launch and roll out products and features with the proper positioning and messaging with our GTM teams
  • Develop ongoing marketing strategies that support merchant trade campaigns, against big retail moments that drive adoption of Afterpay 
  • Innovate and develop unique messaging and creative strategies that drive customer awareness, through to conversion 
  • Partner with head of growth marketing and partner marketing to build an integrated calendar for North America focused on new and existing product adoption 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers through qualitative and quantitative research and behavioral analysis in partnership with customer marketing teams
  • Keep a pulse on market trends and the competitive landscape. Report on competitor product evolution and positioning
  • Partner with Product to develop product roadmaps that meet user needs and differentiate Afterpay from competitors
  • Work closely with an in house creative team to build world class integrated campaigns focusing on core pay in four products, consumer lending, plus membership card, gift cards plus additional product launches and initiatives. 
  • Develop product positioning and messaging informed by research, insights and product understanding
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing products and features
  • Partner with the Product and Growth Marketing teams to track the right metrics and execute campaigns that drive awareness and adoption on an ongoing basis
  • Work closely with the ads team to build and launch go to market initiatives for new ads products focusing on consumer awareness adoption
  • Own and develop product education and enablement function to ensure toolkits and frameworks are produced for each product update and drive cross functional internal adoption with key stakeholders

Qualifications

You have: 

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience that can span brand marketing, product marketing, pricing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting
  • At least 5+ years of product marketing or go-to-market; experience working in technology, financial services, or platform companies is preferred
  • Experience working on product marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle 
  • Deep understanding of brand and product marketing and connective tissue
  • Experience in B2C marketing is preferred
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communicator, with the ability to synthesize a complex situation into a concise plan
  • Data driven and strong analytical skills
  • A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Good at data analysis and willing to solve problems

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $269,600 - USD $329,500
Zone B: USD $269,600 - USD $329,500
Zone C: USD $269,600 - USD $329,500
Zone D: USD $269,600 - USD $329,500
