We are looking for a data-driven, empathetic design leader to coordinate design direction and methodologies across multiple teams. You will understand contemporary design and research methodologies, enterprise software, and working with complex experiences.
You are a passionate advocate for the quality and consistency of the experience delivered to users across multiple products and journeys. You bring experience mentoring designers through a combination of empathy, an understanding of best practices and how to incorporate research and data.
Reporting to the VP & GM of Direct Digital, the Associate Director, Direct Digital Design will lead a team of designers who work with engineers and product managers to build experiences that determine the future of online hospitality.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo's headquarters in NYC on the 82nd floor of One World Trade Center.
What You'll Do
- 7+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design
- 3+ years experience leading teams
- Portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web/responsive and mobile applications
- Knowledge of Agile methods and ceremonies, and experience partnering with Agile teams
- Experience managing a team of product designers in a versatile UX environment, and responsible for their mentorship and career development
- Experience recruiting and building diverse UX or Product Design teams
- Experience with the end-to-end iterative product design process, job-to-be-done, journey mapping, wire-framing and prototyping, user testing, user research, prioritization, and high fidelity visuals
- Experience with story-telling, you can help your team and partners understand the "why" behind your design rationale
- Conversant in the principles defined in The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman.
