Eucalyptus (or 'Euc' for short) is a healthcare technology organisation on a mission to deliver high touch, high quality care to millions of patients.

Eucalyptus is a house of consumer healthcare brands built off of a core shared technology and services layer. We have 4 healthcare brands that form the connective tissue between telehealth consults with doctors, pharmacy delivery and ongoing patient care. Our goal is to provide a differentiated and comprehensive care experience for a wide variety of patients and conditions

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Product and Design team at Eucalyptus. Your squad in particular will be focused on practitioner interactions. This will involve defining, shaping and designing high-quality experiences for our internal team and clinicians to service our patients, who are looking to achieve sustained weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. The opportunity exists to deeply rethink the IA of our admin experience. You will then also be responsible for the design execution of new capabilities which will sit within this architecture, unlocking significant value for other teams to deliver patient-facing experiences.

Our team is strongly data-informed, using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritise the biggest opportunities for creating patient and business value. Nonetheless, creativity firmly has its place in the end to end journey from ideation to launch. Your role is critical in defining the requirements and deliverables of a user experience that is engaging, thoughtful and practical for our patients. We don’t just wax lyrical about customer-centricity, “patient first” is a core company value and we work closely with marketing, customer support, our medical team and our patients to deliver high-quality health care.

In 2023, we have ambitious plans to level up our core healthcare infrastructure. Plans involve investing in greater personalisation, higher touch services and support for sustained health outcomes, expanding into more countries, among other exciting strategic moves.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will:

  • Contribute to the product vision for your team. This will involve working closely with the product lead and product manager to envision the future of this product by driving parts of the discovery process through research, competitor analysis and data.
  • Envision and design new features and frameworks, working closely with product managers and engineers to transform complex problems into simple, user-friendly and elegant experiences. Illustrate and communicate these features using storyboards, flow charts and sitemaps for a few examples.
  • Facilitate customer research including problem discovery and prototype testing to level up usability and produce UX artefacts (customer journey map, sitemaps, user personas).
  • Create and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to elicit feedback and ideas, and guide them through their brainstorming and collaboration.
  • Continuously iterate on features, using data and customer insights to actively improve our features and champion the patients’ voice.
  • Champion best design practices and ways of working. Evangelising design across the Product function and to the wider business. Drive and contribute new ways as to how designers work and collaborate with each other and in their own cross-functional teams
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers across the business, as well as helping them progress towards their career goals.

Examples of what you’d be working on in the first 6 months:

  • Rethinking the architecture of our current admin interface clinicians use to provide care to patients. This is to help enable the launch of new capabilities we want to add in 2023 (you will also be responsible for designing said capabilities).
  • Design new experiences within our brands based on customer feedback and business objectives that help with improving patient experience or revenue goals. Examples of design work include adding new payment methods, reviewing our patient profiles and/or enabling ways for patients to easily manage their orders.

About you

  • Exceptional communicator and collaborator – be able to concisely rationalise your designs and communicate visual concepts, in both verbal and written form. Also able to create clear product design documentation for engineering handoff and collaboration.
  • Proficient UI/UX practitioner – familiar with the whole end to end process from user research, personas, journey mapping, wire framing, prototyping, visual design and high fidelity interaction designs.
  • Strong design all-rounder – a sound understanding of design principles of layout, typography and visual hierarchy. Attention to detail to make designs pixel-perfect before we start engineering them.
  • Practical and outcomes focused – you ensure that your design meets the outcomes / success metrics set at the beginning so that we can balance between delivering the best customer experience & meeting business objectives. Knowing when to move fast to test, learn and iterate for the outcome, or go deep and detailed with a solution that has a calculated level of conviction.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and change – be able to navigate change and unknowns in a fast paced environment, especially as we delve further into the relatively unknown territory of multi-practitioner telehealth communications.

Experience required

  • 5+ years experience in a relevant role (UX/UI, product design, digital design) - bonus points if it’s a B2C company
  • Worked within an agile development environment and familiar with writing up design specifications and handover to engineers
  • Proficiency with Figma (this is our tool of choice!)
  • A design portfolio of web and mobile experiences, including documentation of the end to end design process (any admin experience is a big bonus!)
  • Experienced in conducting user interviews, testing sessions, facilitating internal stakeholder workshops, prototyping
  • Bonuses: Contributing to a design system, UX research background or specialty
