Truework is on a mission to create trust in every financial transaction. Our core product, Truework Income, provides access to crucial employment and income information needed for mortgage loans, apartment rentals, background checks and the like. We are disrupting a $5B+ industry, previously controlled by legacy credit agencies, with a better product and intense customer focus. We handle hundreds of thousands of income and employment verifications every month, and continue to grow our market share in the mortgage lending and tenant screening markets.

We are looking for a Product Marketing Director to join our team, reporting directly to the CPO. This is a critical role that collaborates cross-functionally to grow revenue and market share. In this role, you will help launch market-leading products and services that change how companies access applicant information. You will have an opportunity to craft a new market category, influence go-to-market strategy, and partner with all stakeholders at Truework to win in a space worth billions of dollars annually.

As a Product Marketing Leader, you’ll help accelerate Truework’s growth by shaping markets’ perception through core marketing activities to meet our business goals. The right candidate for Truework will know that their most crucial output is a coherent strategy informed by market and customer needs. The second critical output is a cohesive set of actions to coordinate across GTM, EPD, and Marketing.

The ideal candidate must first be an ambassador for the customers and the product vision at Truework. Internally, they are the market and customer experts. They will bring insights to inform everything from product iteration to go-to-market talking points. Externally, they are expected to craft precise positioning and turn it into clear and consistent messaging repeated across Product, Marketing, and Go-To-Market functions.

At Truework, a successful candidate will recognize that excellence is achieved through the rigor and inspiration of applying genuine new ideas mixed with good frameworks. We value people who are relentless in defining outcomes and tracking work towards these outcomes but also help grow the organization through light but rigorous processes to create accountability.
Finally, we are looking for a strategist. We need a loud voice in the room with strong opinions loosely held in the face of new information, who will avoid consensus-based decisions. This person must be multidisciplinary and capable of charting a long-term vision of how the market and product will evolve together to drive success.

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years experience in Product Marketing
  • Prior experience working at a tech startup
  • A passionate product storyteller, able to create enthusiasm for what we’re building and high-quality enablement across the entire organization
  • A Product Marketing geek, passionate about modern product marketing frameworks and tools who seeks to impact through their applications
  • Experience operating comfortably and effectively in the B2B/B2B2C space
  • Experience doing discovery and customer interviews to uncover market insights
  • A believer in using metrics in addition to customer insights to drive decisions, set goals, and hold other functions accountable
  • Someone obsessed with delivering results through clearly defined outcomes and would rather think of impact instead of activities
  • Experience developing go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and messaging
  • Direct experience supporting with B2B sales teams
  • Self-starter who can lead projects independently

At Truework, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading customer interviews through a continuous discovery process
  • Developing and executing product positioning, messaging, and enablement for new and existing products
  • Conducting market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape
  • Building relationships with customers to develop deep customer empathy and an understanding of their needs
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to lead product launches and project managing toward successful execution
  • Creating collateral, including pitch decks, data sheets, case studies, and whitepapers, to enable sales
  • Analyzing sales and deal performance to inform data-driven decisions to improve messaging and enablement
  • Collaborating with Product Management to influence product roadmap to align with market needs
  • Developing thought leadership content to establish Truework as a leader
  • Presenting research findings and marketing content to other teams and executives
  • Crafting your own outcomes and tracking progress toward it
  • Thinking big and acting small when needed. This means having a clear long-term vision while iterating towards consumer value each cycle. You don't let teams get hung up or over-invest in the pursuit of a false sense of perfection.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
