Product Manager, Connections

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Financial Connections is building new products that expand the scope of problems we tackle beyond payments and into the rest of the financial stack. We are building a way for individuals and businesses (i.e. account holders) to seamlessly share their financial data with Stripe and our merchants to receive better product experiences. We have an ambitious end goal to allow global businesses to run their entire financial life cycle on Stripe, and we want you to be part of our story.

What you’ll do

As the Product Manager for Merchant UX within our Financial Connections team, you are the champion of our merchants’ experience. You will look after all merchant facing surfaces including APIs merchants integrate with to collect accounts and access data as well as dashboards where merchants can onboard and configure their use of Financial Connections. This team is heavily user focused. You will interact both cross-functionally with other teams at Stripe as well as externally with our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively partner with other Stripe teams (engineering, legal, sales, support, etc) early in the product development lifecycle and jointly shape product plans that lead with delightful experiences
  • Be the voice of the merchant both within Financial Connections and more broadly at Stripe
  • Help set an ambitious roadmap for product development and expansion for Merchant UX
  • Work closely with our merchants, product teams, and cross functional partners to build a comprehensive and frictionless experience for our users
  • Discover net new parts of our business and lead them from nascent stages to maturity

Minimum Requirements:

  • Brings 8-12+ years of experience in a product role (ideally working on API-focused products)
  • Has an obsession over product quality, specifically an intuition for high-performing, ergonomic and long-lasting API design
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems
  • Can put themselves in the shoes of their users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
  • Takes an ownership mindset and works on whatever it takes to solve problems and delight users
  • Can dig deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working on financial products
  • Conducting product market research and building buy-in for product ideas from internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Experience building brand new products or working in a startup environment
  • Experience working with GTM teams to bring a new product to market

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $214,300 - $321,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
