What We Do

As a member of the Product team, you’ll identify, define, and prioritize features to help grow Calm’s global presence. This role will be primarily focused on 1.) developing product capabilities that solve important user problems/challenges; 2.) driving subscriber growth and increased user engagement with the Calm app; 3.) researching and testing features that help users plan and track their progress in the Calm app as well as features that highlight the benefits of community in an individual user’s mental health journey. 

 

We are hiring remote workers for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or NYC areas. At this time, only candidates in these locations will be considered. 

 

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Product Manager working on Calm’s direct-to-consumer business, you will envision and create net-new experiences in the app that delight and engage users, making prioritizing their mental wellness a regular habit. You will define, prioritize and execute a product roadmap, working cross functionally with a team of engineers, designers and content creators. Day to day, you will:

  • Develop and own a product strategy and roadmap in alignment with the company’s goals, guiding priorities for a cross- functional team.
  • Drive new feature development to grow user engagement and consumer subscription KPIs. Your days will consist of ideation, planning, optimizing and reporting on these features.
  • Set goals and track deliverables to drive product strategy forward, with an emphasis on both quality and timely execution.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative data to glean insights and guide decision making.
  • Create product requirement documents (PRDs) that succinctly explain a feature’s job to be done, the opportunity, thes success metrics, and the work needed to ship and iterate. 
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

  

Who You Are

  • Proven experience building consumer-facing products on mobile platforms - mobile app experience is a must
  • Experience building 0-1 products in a startup or alternative scenario with high ambiguity 
  • Experience building products oriented on driving specific user-behavior, including gamification or game loops to encourage repeat usage
  • A passion for creativity, innovation and building great products, including those with an emphasis on daily usage
  • A strong point of view regarding product execution best practices
  • Experience leveraging expertise of cross-functional terms to improve the likelihood of product/feature success
  • Ability to analyze user data and extract business requirements from multiple stakeholders and transform them into usable and elegant product specifications
  • Technically conversant and able to collaborate easily with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in product for a subscription-focused DTC business. 
  • Experience working with a mental or physical fitness product. 
  • Experience in gaming and/or developing features that drive habituation. 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • This role typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience 



The anticipated salary range for this position is $193,500 - $270,900. The base salary range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
