The role

Your role is to lead a group of talented designers who are building the Even App. In this role you will be responsible for setting the design strategy, creating a planning process with cross functional teams and creating the future design vision of Even. You will work closely with the Head of Product, Head of Engineering, Marketing and Executive teams.

Your team will be responsible for creating engaging, simple, beautiful, and effective designs that will empower our members and employers to get the most out of Even. You will be directly responsible for growing the team and creating the core operating principles of the Product Design organization at Even.

This role will report directly to the Even CTO.

What you’ll do: 

  • Leadership: Lead, grow and foster a culture of high performance and high morale amongst the design team at Even
  • Hiring: Be the hiring manager for all new open positions and foster and build a diverse design team
  • Cross functional Collaboration: Work closely with your colleagues in Product, Tech, Marketing, Business to create a process that allows for efficient collaboration, feedback and execution to make the Even product stronger for our members and customers
  • Strategic planning & process implementation: Build a robust review process that allows the team to work efficiently, product high quality work product and will scale as the organization grows
  • Team Development: Create an environment that fosters high quality design and leads to impactful improvements of our product

What you’ll need: 

  • 8 years of UX/product/service design experience and 5 years of experience managing design/UX teams
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional colleagues in Product and Engineering, plus if this experience has been helping to build processes from the ground up
  • Ability to ramp quickly, launch high quality work product and iterate based on learnings
  • Interest in and experience with nurturing and growing teams that have low attrition, high morale and product high quality work
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and at all levels of the organization
