About Us:

Rent the Runway (RTR)  is transforming the way we get dressed by pioneering the world’s first Closet in the Cloud. Founded in 2009, RTR has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry by inspiring women with a more joyful, sustainable and financially-savvy way to feel their best every day. As the ultimate destination for circular fashion, the brand now offers infinite points of access to its shared closet via a fully customizable subscription to fashion, one-time rental or ownership. RTR offers designer apparel, accessories and home decor from 700+ brand partners and has built in-house proprietary technology and a one-of-a-kind reverse logistics operation. Under CEO and Co-Founder Jennifer Hyman’s leadership, RTR has been named to CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list multiple times, while Hyman herself has been named to the “TIME 100” most influential people in the world and as one of People magazine’s “Women Changing the World.”

About the Team:

The RTR product team is customer-obsessed, data-driven, experimental, and iterative. We're energized by defining new behavior in the rental ecosystem and are constantly looking for new ways to delight our customers. We believe in and embody RTR’s core values  - including thinking of ourselves as founders, dreaming big, being scrappy, fostering debate and honest conversations, and bringing our authentic selves to work every day.

About the Role:

As the Director of Product Management, you will lead a team of product managers whose mission is to help users discover styles that they want to rent or buy. Your work spans showing all types of users how RTR’s closet could be their closet: from showing prospects how RTR fits into their lives, to helping subscribers continually find new ways to feel their best when they get dressed, to finding the perfect outfit for that next big occasion, to helping all users find previously-loved styles to buy. Your teams will blend the art and science of building user-loved products and scalable platforms across our customer-favorite iOS app and our websites. You will oversee the continued investment in our technical tools like our CMS, merchandising tools and our iOS app, crafting a long-term vision in partnership with Engineering. You’ll work across the major surfaces of the experience, improving the technical foundation as you improve the user experience. You will influence across and up, setting the vision for long-term investment in the products your team owns.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and develop a team of product managers setting and delivering on highly visible and company critical goals
  • Build cross-functional teams tasked with continuous product discovery and delivery
  • Cultivate a deep knowledge of the RTR customer, their pain points, and what makes them love their experience with RTR
  • Prioritize rigorously across a number of business and technical investment areas
  • Build the systems, tools and processes that will enable your team to succeed in the short- and long-terms
  • Define the right success metrics and set clear targets to constantly strive for improvement
  • Drive execution and ensure the team delivers the desired business outcomes efficiently
  • Build the cross-functional relationships with other orgs within RTR that will ensure your team is building alongside our other subject matter experts
  • Communicate plan and progress to key internal partners and executives. Actively listen and respond to feedback
  • Maintain a solid pulse on market trends and conduct ongoing evaluations of relevant 3rd party offerings, to ensure our systems and processes are best-in-class.
  • Contribute to creating a learning culture and a fun, rewarding workplace where people can realize their full potential

About You:

  • You’re a relationship builder who engages well with stakeholders, understands their objectives and constraints and earns their trust.
  • You create vision and clarity from complexity and ambiguity.  You are comfortable and energized by uncharted problems.
  • You’re constantly learning. You run experiments to validate assumptions and mitigate risks.  You are flexible and able to change direction as you learn.
  • You're a builder. You are excited about creating new products that deliver significant business impact.

  • You're analytical. You turn data into actionable insights.
  • You enjoy getting technical. You’re comfortable working with engineers day-to-day and able to participate in technical discussions. You have basic knowledge of data structures, experiment design, and using self-service analytics tools (like Google Analytics or Looker) to make decisions

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
